Ms. Savin has a BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Michigan and a JD from Wayne State University Law School. She has spent the better part of her career in public service working on domestic relations and juvenile court matters.
Ms. Savin handled all manner of family and juvenile court cases while at legal aid, in private practice and at a non-profit organization where she served as the court-appointed Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children. She has also handled ancillary matters, such as guardianships and adoptions to help children achieve permanency. Additionally, Ms. Savin is a trained and experienced mediator.
In 2003, Ms. Savin joined the Oakland County Friend of the Court as a Domestic Relations Referee. She serves on the Judicial Ethics Committee for the State Bar of Michigan, the Executive Board of the Referees Association of Michigan, and recently completed her term as Treasurer of the Michigan Inter-Professional Association on Marriage, Divorce and the Family, Ms. Savin is also a member of the Family Law Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Savin volunteers at her children’s schools and is a member of Temple Israel. She is currently seeking the Oakland County Circuit Court seat open as a result of Judge Joan Young’s retirement.
